Dale’s 2021 Fiction and Poetry Reads

Here are some of my 2021 fiction and poetry reads (although I have to admit I read A Gentleman In Moscow a couple years ago, but I had to include it with Amor Towles other novels). Most of what I read leans in the straight literary genre, but I have a couple Jamaican poetry books by Dorothy Mahfood and Natalie Corthesy, a Jamaican historical fiction novel by Lynda Edwards, and a fantasy pirate novel by Abby Greenbaum (she’s one of my students from last year). I really enjoyed reading quality books by people I know personally. As I consider my 2022 reads, I expect many of them will be on the nonfiction side, as I’ll be doing a lot of research for my second novel in the Wood and Water series. BTW, I expect my first novel to be published in March 2022!
