Write a Book Review
Reviews help readers find great books and help authors, since ratings and review counts drive a book's visibility on Amazon and Goodreads. If you enjoyed the book, Dale would love a review on either site (or both!).
A quick guide:
Purchase required? While Goodreads requires you to have bought the book, Amazon only requires that you’ve spent at least $50 on anything in their store over the past year.
Review or Rate? A review (even a few sentences) is more effective than just giving a star rating, but I’ll be grateful for just a star review if that’s all you’re able to give. =)
Read a free copy? If you read a free copy, include that in the review.
Honesty or Hype? Honesty every time! Just state what you really think of the novel. That’s more helpful to readers (and good feedback for me). So, don’t give 5 stars unless you really feel that way about the book.
How much detail? As detailed as you like, but at least try to add enough details that show you actually read the book (without giving away any spoilers).
Know me personally? If you know me, it’s best to give a review on Goodreads, as Amazon has ways of figuring out who knows who, and they want their reviews to be as unbiased as possible.
Any other helpful ideas? Compare my novel to a similar one you’ve read. Include a photo of yourself with the book.
Anything not to include? More than one review per household. Links from outside the platform. Personal information.
